Manila - Charoen Pokphand Foods Philippines Corporation (CPF Philippines) funded 10 million peso as financial support to agricultural development project in the Philippines under the President Rodrigo Duterte's initiative aimed to strengthen competitiveness of its farm sector for sustainability.

Mr.Sakol Cheewakoset, Vice Chairman of CPF Philippines, said the company recently delivered the financial support to Mr.Emmanuel Pinol, Secretary of Department of Agriculture and Fishery in Manila. The fund is not only provide focusing on farm sector development but also relies on CPF's 'Three Benefits Philosophy' including country, people (where CPF invested in) and finally company to generate business growth. It is also relevant to the Thai government policy that encourage private sector to go aboard to help develop agricultural sector in bid to leverage farmer's quality of life particularly in ASEABN region.

Under the President Duterte's agricultural development project initiatives drew to develop competitiveness of farmers in the Philippines in term of income to stand on their legs. The government has explored assistances from international organizations and private sectors both in the country and overseas. It focuses on modern technology transfer to add value of its goods that serve market demands. Moreover, the project will also concentrate on infrastructure development to reduce logistic cost as well as environmental impacts.

CPF set up CPF Philippines as its arms to manage production base in the country. The company's businesses comprise feed meal for livestock and marine animals such as chicken, pig and shrimp. The productions draw mainly to serve domestic consumption and create food safety and food security to Philippines consumers
