18 January 2018

Chemring Group PLC ('Chemring' or 'the Group') notes the announcement by the Serious Fraud Office ('SFO') that it has launched a formal investigation into concerns about bribery, corruption and money laundering involving intermediaries previously representing the Group's UK-based subsidiary, Chemring Technology Solutions Limited ('CTSL') and its predecessor companies.

The investigation followed a voluntary report made by CTSL which related to two specific historic contracts, the first of which was awarded prior to the Group's ownership of the business concerned and the second in 2011, neither of which are considered material in the context of the Group.

It is too early to predict the outcome of the SFO's investigation. Chemring continues to co-operate fully with the SFO.

As this is a live investigation, it is not possible to comment further at this stage however, the Group will provide a further update as and when appropriate.
