Taiwan's China Airlines, EVA Suspend Domestic Flights Due to Typhoon Talim

TAIPEI--Taiwan's two major airlines--China Airline Ltd. (2610.TW) and EVA Airways Corp. (2618.TW)--said Wednesday they have suspended all domestic flights due to Tropical Storm Talim.
Both airlines said international flights are flying as normal for now.
According to the Central Weather Bureau, Talim is moving northeast at 42 kilometers per hour. The typhoon brought heavy rain to southern and central Taiwan early Wednesday and will likely hit the capital Taipei later in the day, the weather bureau said.
Talim, which formed in the South China Sea off China's Hainan island, strengthened into a tropical storm Monday. It brought torrential rain to coastal areas, including in Vietnam and Hong Kong, as it moved across the northern part of the South China Sea before reaching Taiwan.
