After its completion, the project will greatly cement the connection between downtown Chittagong and the east coast of the KarnaphuliRiver, drive the economic construction of the east coast, and accomplish the coordinated economic development of "one city and two towns". As an important part of China-Bangladesh-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor, the project is also of great significance to perfecting Asia's highway network, promoting the interconnection between Bangladesh and its neighboring countries, and advancing the globalization of Bangladesh.
