China Gezhouba : Wang Jianping Visits Ecuador for Investigation

From August 24 to 26, Wang Jianping, Secretary of Party Committee and Chairman of CEEC, led a delegation to visit Ecuador for investigation on international operation and Party construction.He emphasized that all party members are required to deeply learn and understand President Xi Jinping's series important speeches, accelerate the progress of 'Going Global', proactively participate in the 'Belt and Road' construction, enhance the overseas party construction, and practically fulfill the responsibilities and missions of a Chinese enterprise as per the overall deployment of the SASAC, making contributions to transfer and upgrade CEEC as an engineering company with international competitiveness. Chen Xiaohua, Member of the Standing Committee of Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of CGGC, CEEC, Secretary of Party Committe and President of CGGC International, Secretary of Party Committe and President of CGGC Overseas Investment, attended the investigation. On the day when they arrived at Ecuador, the delegation listened to the work reports on CGGC's markets in Latin America and Ecuador in Quito, and analyzed the objective situations of the existing market development. The delegation required making the overall planning for the market, deeply analyzing the political and economic situations of the regional market, giving the advantages in market layout, public relations and financing channels into full play, exploring and making innovation in business models, and making all efforts to create the dual-driven and coordinated development of engineering contracting and overseas investment in strict accordance with the China-proposed 'Going Global' policy. The delegation also required the company to comprehensively enhance the risk prevention, fully investigate the laws, regulations, policies and business conditions, make plans in advance, improve the systems, enhance the supervision and control, and avoid the risks. On August 26, the delegation visited the Yachay Knowledge City, the so-called 'Silicon Valley' in South America to investigate and provide guidance for project construction, and communicated with the principals of the Owner.Then, Wang Jianping organized and presided over the briefing meeting for situations of projects undertaken by CGGC in Ecuador in the campsite of the Project Department.He fully recognized CGGC's hard work and excellent performance in market development, project implementation and overseas grass-roots party construction in Ecuador.He also noted that the company should attach great importance to the implementation of projects, set up the awareness of 'good performance is the best approach for success', place the focus on localization management, carefully research and strictly follow the local laws and regulations, show respect to local customs, and promote the cultural fusion.Meanwhile, the company should attach great importance to the financial and tax-related affairs, establish and perfect the financial management system for overseas projects, comprehensively plan the talent cultivation, establish and perfect the incentive and constraint mechanisms from a long run, and vigorously cultivate the inter-disciplinary talents with international vision.Finally, the company should focus on the operation safety, continuously consolidate the basis for safety management, and ensure the safety of overseas projects, personnel and subcontractors.

Wang Jianping emphasized that the Party's leadership is the root and soul for a state-owned enterprise.The party organizations at all levels shall practically integrate the party construction in their production and operation activities, and all the party members should reinforce to learn President Xi Jinping's series important speeches, and play a pioneering role of the party member in a real sense.

During the investigation, Wang Jianping met with Jorge Watt, State Owned Enterprises Minister of Ecuador, and Francis Berca, General Manager of CELEC.They highly praised CGGC's excellent contract performance capabilities in a series of electric, energy and infrastructure projects such as Sopladora Hydropower Station, which fully represents the strength and brand image of Chinese enterprises. They hoped to further enhance the cooperation with CGGC to make more contributions to the energy, infrastructure, social and economic development in Ecuador.

Meanwhile, Wang Jianping met with Wang Jianlin, the Chinese Ambassador to Ecuador, and introduced the overall situation of CEEC's practice of 'Going Global' strategy. Mr. Wang Yulin fully recognized the remarkable achievements made by CEEC and its affiliates in the economic and trading relationship between China and Ecuador, as well as the good performance in proactively fulfilling their social responsibilities in host countries. He encouraged and supported CEEC and its affiliates to undertake more energy and infrastructure projects in Ecuador to achieve the long-term development in Ecuador and even the Latin America.
