Notes: In October 2015, China Shenhua Energy Company Limited (the "Company") completed the acquisition of 100% equity interest in Ningxia Guohua Ningdong Power Generation Co., Ltd., 100% equity interest in Guohua Xuzhou Power Generation Co., Ltd. and 51% equity interest in Shenhua Guohua (Zhoushan) Power Generation Co., Ltd. held by Shenhua Group Corporation Limited, the controlling shareholder of the Company, and the acquisitions are business combinations under common control. The operational data for January and March 2015 have been restated.
In the first quarter of 2016, the Company's coal sales volume increased by 27.1% year-on-year, which was primarily due to (1) a rebound in coal demand in major downstream industries for the first quarter of the year, especially since March 2016; (2) the Company's strengthening sales of coal purchased from third parties by fully utilizing its own transportation capacity; and (3) a comparatively lower base of coal sales volume in the first quarter of last year. The total sales of power output dispatch was recorded a year-on-year increase of 4.8%, mainly attributable to an increase in installed capacity of the Company's power generators.
The major operational data above were calculated based on the internal statistics of the Company. As a result, operational data may show major differences between months. The factors giving rise to such differences include, without limitation to, bad weather, equipment overhaul, seasonal factors, and safety checkup and so on. The major operational data may somewhat differ from the data disclosed in the relative periodic reports.
