　　In the afternoon of December 2, China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd. (CSCEC) held a symposium in Beijing for doctors designated to work in west China. Guan Qing, Chairman of CSCEC, attended the symposium and discussed with eight doctors who were selected from CSCEC and included into the 17th batch of doctors sent to the west by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee. The symposium was hosted by Liu Jinzhang, Vice President of CSCEC.
Mr. Guan expressed his expectations for doctors. First, he hoped them to cherish this precious opportunity for their career development, keep self-improvement through practice under difficult conditions, and enhance their capability and experience. Second, they should make their due contribution to local economic development and reform by capitalizing on their expertise and advantages in production and operation, professional management and technological innovation. Third, they should keep disciplined and play an exemplary role in observing laws and regulations.
The eight doctors said they will keep Mr. Guan's words in mind and build an image of outstanding performance, upbeat spirit and perseverance.
The Doctor Service Group is an important measure to implement the west development strategy and talent strategy of the country and to provide talent support to the development of west China. Since 1999, 2,426 doctors in 16 batches have been sent to the western region, old revolutionary base areas and border areas where ethnic minorities concentrate.
There are 396 doctors in the 17th batch this year, more than any of previous years. Among them, 50 are from central SOEs. CSCEC recommended eight doctors from their subsidiaries to the group on the basis of comprehensive appraisal of their expertise, experience and performance.
The Human Resources Department introduced arrangement of positions for doctors. Heads of Technology & Design Management Department, Corporate Culture Department and other major departments attended the symposium. (from Human Resources Dept.)
