  • 　　　　On December 16, Ali Bongo Ondimba, President of the Gabonese Republic, inspected the Port Gentil Stadium undertaken by CSCEC Congo SARL and China Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau Corp., Ltd. (CSCEC 8th Bureau). With him were the Minister of Youth and Sports of Gabon, Governor of Province de l'Ogooué-Maritime and official from the Organizing Committee of the Africa Cup of Nations.
    The President was briefed about the construction progress and inspected the locker room for athletes, indoor gym for warming up and the main venue. In the interview, he said he was pleased to see on-time completion of the stadium and highly praised CSCEC's outstanding construction capability and comprehensive strength.
    The Port Gentil Stadium is a representative sports venue in Gabon. Covering a floor area of about 20,000 square meters and roughly attracting investment of USD100 million, it will be used as the main venue for 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. (from CSCEC 8th Bureau)
