CSUN Release Sustainability Report 2011
On June 5th 2012?China Sunergy (Nanjing) Co.,
Ltd.(Nasdaq: CSUN) released its Sustainability Report
2011. As one of the earlist solar cell manufacturers in
China, CSUN began operations in August 2004 and were
publicly listed on the NASDAQ exchanges in2007. Known for
its leading-edge technology in the PV industry, CSUN has
grown repidly in the past few years and offered more than
1GW solar cells and solar modules for customers.
Sustainability is one of the most important guidance of
CSUN long-term strategy and development.
At the beginning of this 40 pages report, the most senior
decision maker-CSUN CEO Mr. Stephan Cai's i stated that,
"This report sets out what sustainability means to CSUN
and what we are doing to embed sustainable values
throughout the organization?As CEO, I am committed to
ensuring that sustainability remains a core element of
what we do.".
With the integral effort of management and all staff, in
2011, the consumption of fresh water is 2149.76 tons per
MW solar capacity produced, 34.41% decreased than that of
3277.75 in 2010. Furthermore, the consumption of
electricity and natural gas decreased 17.1% and 30.12%
than last year as well.
CSUN prides itself on taking care of its employees and
works closely with government Bureaus to ensure
compliance with regulatings affecting workplace, healthe
and safety. CSUN complies with the relevant laws and
regulations relating to all aspects of sustainability as
identified in the GRI standard. In 2011, CSUN Nanjing
operations passed all Chiinese Environmental Protection
Agency and Health&safety Bureau inspections.
Furthermore, CSUN has invested more than USD 1.5million,
in an in-house building integrated photovoltaic project
(BIPV) in 2012 for its Nanjing Headquarters. Once in
operation, this project would help to reduce carbon dust
by 322.6 tons; and also lower the Co2, So2 and NOX
emissions by 1,182.40 tons, 35.60 tons and 17.80 tons
respectively.
This report is intended to represent CSUN belief in the
importance of developing sustainable relationships with

customers, and the sustainability will be developed
further and remains a core value of CSUN in future.
