In order to proactively follow the PRC government's strategy on raising network speed and lowering data tariffs as well as enhance the customer experience, China Unicom (Hong Kong) Limited ('the Company') will launch an unused monthly data carry-over policy (the 'Mobile Data Carry-over Policy') on 1 October 2015 which allows the unused monthlydata under the monthly package committed by the handset subscribers to be carried over for use till the end of the following month. The Mobile Data Carry-over Policy will enhance the data consumption experience of customers, accelerate the subscriber and service upgrade, and promote the strategic transformation of the Company. The implementation of the Mobile Data Carry-over Policy is however expected to have some negative impact on the revenue and net income of the Company. The Company will speed up the construction of its high-quality 4G network, enhance the penetration in the 4G smartphone market, and provide better data service to subscribers in order to minimise the impact of the Mobile Data Carry-over Policy on the revenue and net income of the Company.
