for Second Consecutive Year

Hong Kong, 27 December 2017-China Unicom (Hong Kong) Limited("China Unicom" or "the Company") (HKEx: 0762; NYSE: CHU)was voted two years in a row byinstitutional investors as "Asia's No.1 Most Honored Telecom Company" in "2017 All-Asia Executive Team" ranking organised by the authoritative financial magazine,Institutional Investor.

The excellent recognitions mark the endorsement by professional investors and investment analysts ofChina Unicom'scontinuous enhancement in strategy execution and leading standard in corporate governance in Asia, especially its proactive implementation of the mixed-ownership reform in 2017 to enhance corporate vibrancy and operating efficiency. China Unicom would like to sincerely thank its investors and the investment community for their kind support and the great vote of confidence.

"2017 All-Asia Executive Team" ranking, organised for theseventh consecutive year to recognise Asia (ex-Japan) region'stop performing companies and executives, reflected the opinions of 3,932 investment professionals at 980 financial institutions. Respondents are from financial institutions that collectively manage an estimated US$1.5 trillion in Asia (ex-Japan) equities.

Institutional Investor's confidential and unprompted voting gathersdata from investors and analysts to determine rankings in Most Honored Companies at the Asian (ex-Japan) companies they cover, and to evaluate these businesses on selected corporate governance attributes. This year, a record high of 2,510 companies across 18 sectors were nominated in the ranking.
