Update: Chorus fault restoration performance

Chorus has today provided the first of weekly performance updates on its fault restoration performance.

The company will provide the latest weekly figures every week until performance is back to business as usual levels.

Since Chorus' statement on 22 July 2016, a range of additional actions have been taken to improve performance, including moving additional technicians to Auckland and Waikato, and providing more direct assistance to its service company partners.

In addition, Chorus and its service company partners have continued to recruit; and have been liaising with companies whose business needs have changed, such as Fisher & Paykel Appliances, to investigate opportunities to employ appropriately skilled people who may be looking for new opportunities.

Fault restoration performance month to date at 27 July 2016

- Total Chorus lines: 1,747,000 (as reported 15 April 2016)

- Faults logged with Chorus month to date: 34,966

- Faults restored month to date: 34,537

- Average time to restore: 62.7 hours

- Currently open faults: 3,263

- Faults open for more than three days: 467
