Chorus has today provided an update on its fault restoration performance as at 07 July, 2017.

As a commitment to transparency, Chorus is providing the latest figures every week throughout winter.

Fault restoration across the country has decreased since the previous update, with the average time to restore going from 23.3 hours last week to 19.5 hours yesterday.

The severe weather conditions on Thursday resulted in a high incoming fault load, some of which will not be cleared until the weekend. Despite the expected increase in fault volumes we will work to maintain our customer commit levels and strive to deliver service restoration within 24 hours.

Chorus' website includes a network outage checker (https://outages.chorus.co.nz) which people can use to see if there is an outage in their area. The tool gives an overview of the outage and estimated restoration times.

Fault restoration performance month to date at 07 July 20, 2017:

- Faults logged with Chorus: 6,939
- Faults restored month to date: 6,484
- Average time to restore: 19.5 hours
- Current open faults: 1,338
- Faults open for more than three days: 39
