CHS president and CEO Carl Casale had the chance recently to weigh in on a variety of current issues facing agriculture through an interview with Agri-Pulse.

Casale sat down with Jeff Nalley, broadcaster for Agri-Pulse, an online news service focused on agricultural and rural policy decisions and their impact on producers and agribusinesses. Casale's interview was broadcast through Agri-Pulse's Open Mic feature. Find a link to the 20-minute broadcast here.
'Casale shares a view that the industry hasn't yet seen the bottom of the income swing,' Agri-Pulse writes in an intro to Casale's interview. 'Despite the current challenge, Casale shares a bright view for the next generation of the industry with tremendous turnover in producer demographics.'

Topics ranged from labor and environmental regulations affecting ag retail and refining facilities and farmers and ranchers to trade policies, tax reform and waterways funding. As CEO of the nation's leading farmer-owned cooperative, Casale weighed in on consolidation in the ag sector, both domestically and globally. He also spoke about how CHS is helping its member cooperative and farmer-owners get through these challenging times and how the cooperative business model serves as an advantage in these tough economic times.
