Tom Lehar has been named to the position of Vice President - Northland region for CHS Country Operations, effective May 1. In his new role, Lehar will oversee the planning, operations and producer board relationships with CHS Country Operations business units in North Dakota and northern Minnesota.

'We are excited about this new opportunity to use Tom's leadership more broadly within the Country Operations division as we continually look for ways to help our owners grow and succeed,' says Mike Johnston, senior vice president, CHS Country Operations. 'Under his leadership, annual sales grew from $20 million to over $250 million for our Milton-based business unit.'

Serving agriculture for 25 years, Lehar has developed his leadership skills and ag management experience through progressively responsible positions in our cooperative system. He started his career with CHS in the management trainee program. Following that, Lehar served as branch manager at Gulchutt, N.D., before being appointed as general manager to the Milton-based business in 1994. Today, that group is a successful 12-location, full-service ag retail operation.

Raised on a family farm near Fairfax, Minn., Lehar graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from St. John's University, Collegeville, Minn.
