[For Immediate Release] CHUN WO HOLDS TREE PLANTING CEREMONY AT FUK MAN ROAD NULLAH PROJECT IN SAI KUNG * * * * * IMPROVEMENT OF NULLAH TO CREATE A NEW LANDMARK IN SAI KUNG

(Hong Kong, 17 November 2011) - Chun Wo Development Holdings Limited ("Chun Wo" or "the Group") (stock code: 711) held a tree planting ceremony at the site of Fuk Man Road Nullah Project, which is the first project under the New Engineering Contract ("NEC") implemented by the Hong Kong SAR Government. Chun Wo, as the main contractor, is to partner with Black & Veatch Hong Kong Limited to carry out the construction work. The trees planted in the Tree Planting Ceremony will grow in the park at the site and permanently beautify the environment.
Officiating guests int the Tree Planting Ceremony included the Honourable Mr. C. C. Chan, JP, Director of Drainage Services Department; Ms. Grace Lui Kit Yuk, JP, Deputy Secretary for Development (Works) of Development Bureau; and Mr. Derrick Pang, Vice Chairman of Chun Wo; together with representatives from the Civil Engineering and Development Department, representatives of Sai Kung, as well as teachers, students and their parents from nearby primary schools.
The Improvement of Fuk Man Road Nullah Project in Sai Kung is part of the flood prevention scheme undertaken by the Drainage Services Department, involving a total contract value of approximately HK$49.8 million and scheduled for completion in mid-2012. Related works include turning a 180-meter open nullah into a covered drainage on Fuk Man Road, adding a green area and improving road conditions. After the project is completed, the inconvenience caused by the open nullah and traffic congestion would be reduced significantly and a better leisure area would be provided. The beautified zone has tentatively been named "Urban Park-Marina Park". It is set to become a new landmark in Sai Kung and provide a green leisure area of approximately 4,000 square meters, where Sai Kung is often described as "The backyard of Hong Kong."

Mr. Derrick Pang, Vice Chairman of Chun Wo, said, "We are very delighted to participate in the Improvement of Fuk Man Road Nullah Project to beautify Sai Kung and secure the first project under the NEC scheme of the Hong Kong SAR Government. The new scheme can serve as a catalyst to foster collaboration among the Government, engineering consultants and contractors, thus creating synergies. 'Concern' is one of Chun Wo's Core Values. We hope to incorporate more green elements into the environment of Sai Kung and improve the environment of the district through the project. Going forward, we intend to capture future opportunities to join in more Government infrastructure projects and wider business exchanges with our numerous partners. In this way we can realise our mission of

'improving people's quality of life through city and infrastructure development."
