CIBT Education : Subsidiary Appoints New Executives to its Management Team

January 16th 2017, Vancouver, BC: CIBT Education Group Inc. ('CIBT') (TSX: MBA, OTCQX International: MBAIF) is pleased to announce a strategic rearrangement of the Sprott-Shaw Degree College Corp. executive team along with the addition of two new divisions.

First is the appointment of Mr. Victor Tesan as the new president of Sprott Shaw College effective Monday January 16, 2017. Mr. Tesan brings with him more than twenty years' experience in leadership and management in the private education sector including the development, strategic planning and management of overall college operations. Previously as vice president of Sprott Shaw College between 1994 and 2008 and, most recently, as president and chief operating officer, of Vancouver Career College and CDI College across Canada, he was recognized for his operational and leadership excellence. Mr. Tesan has a proven history of building successful and sustainable organizations and we are very pleased to have him join the Sprott-Shaw Degree College Corp. executive management team.

Concurrent with this appointment, we are pleased to announce that two new divisions will be formed: Sprott Shaw College International ('SSCI') and Sprott Shaw Language College ('SSLC').

SSCI is a transformation of our current international department into a new division giving it more independence and flexibility to grow. During the past year, the international department has grown by a rapid 110%. We are delighted to appoint Mr. Patrick Dang as the president of this new but very experienced division. New programs designed for international students will be planned for this division catering to the needs of the international markets.

SSLC currently operates as a division of Sprott Shaw College under the name Vancouver International College ('VIC'). VIC will effect a name change to Sprott Shaw Language College and continue to be a division of Sprott Shaw College. Mr. Steve Sohn will continue to be the president of SSLC, leading this division which has grown by 15% since joining our group in July 2016.

Future school acquisitions will be rolled under the Sprott-Shaw Degree College Corp. corporate umbrella into one or more of our three major divisions:

• Domestic programs: SSC
• International diploma programs: SSCI
• Language programs and summer camps: SSLC

The objective of the changes is to clearly define our school program design, business objectives, industry experience, focused demographics and staff expertise. The presidents of the three divisions will be as follows:

• Victor Tesan - (SSC) Domestic Division
• Patrick Dang - (SSCI) International Division
• Steve Sohn - (SSLC) Language Division
