Cigna (NYSE:CI) and Shriners Hospitals for Children® have reached agreement on a three-year contract that adds all 20 of Shriners' U.S. hospitals in 16 states and their more than 200 employed doctors to Cigna's network. Under the agreement, which is effective June 1, people enrolled in a Cigna health plan will be eligible to receive covered services at in-network rates.

"We're very pleased to add Shriners Hospitals for Children to Cigna's national network," said Thomas Garvey, Cigna's national vice president for network and medical cost management. "Each year thousands of families turn to a Shriners hospital when their children need care, and now, families enrolled in a Cigna health plan will have the security that comes from having these hospitals and services included in Cigna's national network."

"At Shriners Hospitals for Children we improve the lives of our patients by focusing on providing the highest quality care in a family centered environment. We are pleased to be expanding our relationship with Cigna and making our services available to Cigna customers," said Scott R. Laubisch, vice president, Shriners Hospitals for Children.
