Sogefi: Laurent Hebenstreit selected for the position of chief executive


His appointment will be put before the Board of Directors in June.Mr Hebenstreit is a French manager with significant experience in the international automotive sectorMilan, April 27 2015 - Sogefi S.p.A. announces that Laurent Hebenstreit has been selected as the new Chief Executive Officer of the company. His appointment, subject first to his co-option onto the Board of Directors, will be put forward by Executive Deputy Chairman Monica Mondardini to the Directors of Sogefi S.p.A. at a special meeting to be held in June 2015.

Mr Hebenstreit, 54, is of French nationality and graduated in Engineering from the Ecole Centrale in Paris. He has had long international experience in the automotive components sector and has held important positions in groups such as Faurecia, Plastic Omnium, Allied Signal Automotive and Valeo. In his career, Mr Hebenstreit has managed global businesses with annual revenues of between € 2 and € 3 billion and has also acquired experience in complex restructuring processes.

He comes from Française de Roues, the French company that produces light alloy wheels, for whom he managed a restructuring process over the last two years. From 2009 to 2012 he was Vice President for Finance and IT systems then Chief Executive of the Exterior Division of Plastic Omnium, a world leader in the production of vehicle exterior components. From 2002 to 2006 he was Chief Executive of the Interieur division of Faurecia, a top producer worldwide of interiors for motor vehicles. From 1998 to 2002 he was President and Chief Operating Officer of the Inergy Division of Plastic Omnium, the main world producer of plastic petrol tanks. During the nineteen-nineties he was Director for Europe of the Friction Materials business and subsequently of the Safety Systems Division of Allied Signal Automotive and Sales Manager and Director of Research and Development of Valeo Electrical Systems. Mr Hebenstreit began his career in Saft, the global producer of batteries where he was Sales and Marketing Director. Sogefi, the automotive components company of the CIR group, is a world leader in engine systems and suspension components, with around 6,700 employees and a production presence consisting of 42 production plants in 16 countries. In 2014 Sogefi reported revenues of over € 1.3 billion.
