Cisco : Citrix at Cisco Live! Orlando 2018

CiscoLive! US in Orlando was gigantic!

The heat and humidity of Orlando in June was no match for the over 26,000 people attending Cisco Live this year. This was probably the best Cisco Live meeting I have attended. Over the week we heard from Cisco's senior executives regarding our key strategies; powering the multi-cloud world, reinventing the network, unlocking the power of data, and security across everything. It was also an opportunity to hear from one of our strategic alliance partners, Citrix, and learn about our newest announcement - Cisco HyperFlex for Citrix Cloud Services.

One of the important announcements with HyperFlex 3.5 is our innovation with Citrix. Cisco HyperFlex for Citrix Cloud Services enables the simplest, fastest, and most secure way to deploy and scale your virtualized desktops. This is a perfect solution for companies that want to leverage a subscription service while keeping the workloads on-prem. Cisco HyperFlex makes it easy to deploy with compute, storage, and networking all in the same system. Cisco and Citrix have been working to deliver this innovation that combines hybrid-cloud flexibility with an easy approach to managing the environment. Citrix at Cisco Live

The Citrix booth was packed every day with customers and partners hearing about our jointly developed solutions. Citrix was showcasing 'this is how the future works'. Solution demonstrations were focused on cloud, data center automation, moving to hybrid models, and analytics. They had demo stations showing the Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure solution integrated with Citrix NetScaler along with information on Citrix Cloud Services. They also had a number of short informative theatre presentations including how to simplify and accelerate the digital workspace along with the benefits of graphics support in virtualized applications.

Steve Blacklock, VP Global Strategic Partners at Citrix, joined a panel session at Cisco Live to discuss the announcement of Cisco HyperFlex for Citrix Cloud Services. Steve spoke about the Citrix innovations on HyperFlex making it easy to deploy your workloads with a truly hybrid solution keeping your workloads on-prem with the control plane in the cloud.
