Cloud Peak Energy, one of the largest U.S. coal producers, was recognized as Outstanding Corporation of the Year by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Montana Chapter, at the group’s award ceremony on November 10, 2016. The award highlights the commitment of Cloud Peak Energy to its communities through philanthropic service and support.

Cloud Peak Energy, which operates the Spring Creek Mine, Montana’s largest coal mine by production, partners with a wide variety of organizations in Montana, including Billings Family Services, Billings Clinic, and the Chase Hawks Foundation. Last year alone, the Company generated over $17 million in economic activity in the state and contributed $52 million in taxes, royalties, and fees to Montana and the state’s local governments.
