CLP and China Southern Power Grid Open A New Chapter in Partnership
CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP Power) held a cocktail reception today celebrating a new chapter of collaboration between CLP Power and China Southern Power Grid Co. Ltd. (CSG) as the two companies entered a joint venture in the Castle Peak Power Company Limited (CAPCO) under a 70/30 partnership.
The grand cocktail reception was held tonight in the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre and was attended by more than a hundred of dignitaries and officials. The Honorable C Y Leung, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (sixth right), Mr. Zhang Xiaoming, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (fifth left), Ms Tong Xiaoling, Deputy Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (fourth right), The Honourable Sir Michael Kadoorie, Chairman of CLP Holdings Limited (sixth left) and Mr. Zhao Jianguo, Board Chairman of China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. (fifth right) jointly officiated at the ceremony in front of guests of honour as CLP and CSG joined hands to serve Hong Kong and contribute to Hong Kong's economic development by providing a highly reliable electricity supply.

The Honourable Sir Michael Kadoorie, Chairman of CLP Holdings Limited, said in his welcome speech that it is a great pleasure for CLP to welcome China Southern Power Grid as the new partner which opens a new chapter for the Castle Peak Power Company Limited. The partnership will provide new opportunities for both companies as Hong Kong and South China continue to integrate and forge closer ties.

Mr Zhao Jianguo, Chairman of China Southern Power Grid Co Ltd, said at the ceremony that the cooperation and joint management between CSG and CLP in Castle Peak Power Company Limited carries special significance in the strengthening of cooperation and exchanges between Guangdong and Hong Kong in the electricity sector and safeguarding of reliable electricity supply for Hong Kong. CSG will work together with CLP to service and support the economic and social development in Hong Kong, and contribute to the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong.
Officiating guests raised a toast to all after the ceremony.

CLP's Junior Green Engineers joined the officiating guests for a group photo, signifying the
collaboration to build a better future.
The ceremony started with a dazzling performance by the Hong Kong Children's Choir. Accompanied by historical images from the city's past and featured the songs Imagine, Below the Lion Rock and Tomorrow Will Be Better, the performance presented the story about CLP growing with Hong Kong over the past century.

The cocktail reception was attended by more than 100 dignitaries from the business and political
sectors and the community along with CAPCO's partners.
Castle Peak Power Company Ltd. (CAPCO) is a joint venture of CLP Power Hong Kong Ltd.
(CLP Power) and China Southern Power Grid International (HK) Co., Ltd. (CSG HK), a wholly- owned subsidiary of China Southern Power Grid Co. Ltd (CSG HK), under a 70/30 partnership. CAPCO currently owns three power stations, Castle Peak Power Station, Black Point Power Station and Penny's Bay Power Station, which are all operated by CLP Power.
