Cobra Electronics Corporation (NASDAQ: COBR), celebrating 50 years of innovation in 2011 as a leading designer and marketer of award-winning consumer and mobile electronics, today announced that Cobra Tag(TM), one of its new mobile lifestyle products, has been selected as a finalist for the CTIA 2011 Hot for the Holidays Award in the "Fashionista" category. This award identifies and celebrates the hottest mobile consumer electronic products and applications for the upcoming holiday season, and will be touted as 2011's 'must-buy' gifts for people of all ages.

Entries are reviewed by a panel of recognized media members, industry analysts and executives, as well as show attendees. Products will be judged on innovation, functionality, technological importance, implementation and overall "wow" factor.

Cobra Tag, a tracking and loss prevention system for car keys, smartphones, laptops and other valuables, was selected as a finalist by a panel of mobile consumer electronics media and analysts from hundreds of submissions across ten product categories. Recipients of the award will be announced on Wednesday, October 12 at 2 p.m. PDT during the CTIA ENTERPRISE & APPLICATIONS show taking place at the San Diego Convention Center.

In addition to the Hot for the Holidays Award, CTIA will also host the "CTIA 2011 Hottest Web Pick" competition where consumers can cast votes online for their favorite products until October 10, 2011 at www.ctiashows.com/holidays. CTIA show attendees will also be able to view all submitted products onsite within the Hot for the Holidays Showcase. The entry that earns the most text votes onsite will be recognized as the "CTIA 2011 Hottest in Show."
