Mexico City, Mexico - May 16, 2017 - After a deep and thorough process of analysis and negotiations with The Coca-Cola Company, Coca-Cola FEMSA, S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV: KOFL; NYSE: KOF) ('Coca-Cola FEMSA', 'The Company' or 'KOF'), the largest public bottler of Coca-Cola products in the world by sales volume, announces that under the terms offered to acquire certain territories in the United States, KOF has concluded that it is the best course of action not to pursue this acquisition.

Coca-Cola FEMSA will continue assessing the acquisition, on a preferred basis, of other available territories currently operated by The Coca-Cola Company's Bottling Investments Group consistent with the cooperation framework announced in July 2016.

'Coca-Cola FEMSA will remain focused on a disciplined approach to capital allocation and the creation of long-term value for our shareholders. In this sense, we will continue looking at and assessing other attractive opportunities that will allow us to strengthen our position as a global multi-category beverage company,' said John Santa Maria, Chief Executive Officer.
