COLTENE plans an extension of its headquarters in Altstaetten, Switzerland

Altstaetten, October 3rd, 2017 - COLTENE Holding AG (SIX Swiss Exchange: CLTN), an internationally leading developer and producer of dental consumables, announced today that it would be investing approximately CHF 11 million to modernize and enlarge its headquarters in Altstaetten. This project underscores COLTENE's strong commitment to its manufacturing base and highly skilled and motivated workforce in Switzerland. COLTENE's answer to the strong Swiss franc is modern manufacturing facilities, the automation of production processes and optimization of logistics and operating procedures in R&D, production, marketing and administration. An extension of its headquarters that will house a two-story production hall and modern office space on a third floor is planned. The new building will allow COLTENE to vacate leased premises and to increase both its production capacity and efficiency. The building permit was issued in September 2017 and the new premises should be ready for occupancy in the autumn of 2018.

The new, two-story production facility will primarily be utilized to enlarge production capacity for the growing Restoratives product group. The additional manufacturing space will enable COLTENE to optimize production workflows for all of its composite products. The new building will also house a redesigned production line for diamond burs and a clean room for the sterile packaging of single-use products. COLTENE will thus be able to comply with increasingly strict medical hygiene regulations worldwide and offer dentists products with more value added. Employees in its Marketing, R&D and Administration units will be offered a modern work environment that will further enhance COLTENE's attractiveness as an employer. The building permit was issued in September 2017 and the groundbreaking ceremony took place on October 3rd 2017. Construction work is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2018, which would allow the new premises to be occupied and operational in the autumn of 2018.

This building project reflects COLTENE's strong commitment to its home base in Switzerland and lays the groundwork for COLTENE Group's continued sustainable growth. Thanks to the modern infrastructure, operating costs and energy consumption will decrease over time and older properties that are currently leased can be vacated. Martin Schaufelberger, CEO of COLTENE Group: "Switzerland remains an attractive and competitive manufacturing base for us, thanks in particular to the country's first-class infrastructure and its dual system of vocational education and training. We aim to make the most of these locational advantages by investing in our workforce and in ultra-modern production assets and high-tech workplaces." Martin Schaufelberger adds: "A sound and courageous investment policy and a highly motivated workforce are vital in our efforts to develop and produce innovative products, which, in turn, are vital to our sustained success in the world market."
