As part of its ongoing commitment to provide an outstanding customer experience, Comcast Cable today announced the grand opening of two new businesses that will bring it even closer to its customers -- a new XFINITY Store, as well as plans for a new state-of-the-art data center in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Hillsboro XFINITY Store Now Open

On Saturday, November 15th, Comcast celebrates the Grand Opening of its new XFINITY store in Hillsboro. The new store is in addition to the four existing XFINITY customer experience stores in the Oregon/SW Washington area, adding twelve jobs to Hillsboro. The new site brings the total customer service store locations to 13. Combined, these stores employ more than 100 Comcast employees.

The new 4,200 square foot store is designed entirely around the needs of customers and provides Comcast customers with an opportunity to explore, learn and interact directly with the latest XFINITY products and services, including Comcast’s lightning-fast broadband, the exciting X1 operating system and the latest in home security.

“This experience center provides a place where customers can get their hands on all of our products, as well as get answers to their questions,” said Rodrigo Lopez, Regional Vice President, Oregon and SW Washington Region. “With this new store, we're happy that we can provide Hillsboro-area customers the opportunity to explore, experience, and learn more about the functionality of our innovative products and interesting apps.”

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Saturday, November 15th at 11 a.m., and will include Hillsboro Mayor Jerry Willey. Festivities and family entertainment will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The address of the new XFINITY Store is 1995 NW 185th Avenue, Hillsboro, Oregon 97124 (Tanasbourne Village, NW Corner of Cornell & 185th). Store hours are: Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday Noon to 4 p.m.

Comcast Building Data Center in Hillsboro

Comcast also announced it is building a data center in Hillsboro. This state-of-the art facility will provide support for Comcast’s video, Internet and phone services for Oregon and SW Washington customers.

Construction on the Hillsboro data center is already in progress and is being completed by local Portland contractor, Fortis Construction Inc.

“We appreciate Comcast opening a new store in Hillsboro which will provide more convenient customer service to our residents. We welcome all business investments into our city,” said Hillsboro Mayor, Jerry Willey.

Approximately 2,000 employees work at Comcast throughout Oregon and SW Washington—including nearly 650 local customer service representatives based in our Beaverton, OR Sales Center of Excellence, and 600 technicians who install and repair XFINITY Video, Internet, Voice and home services and Comcast Business services.

Today’s announcement underscores Comcast’s continued investments in Oregon. Comcast donated more than $4.5 million in cash and in-kind contributions to local non-profits and schools in 2013, and paid more than $30,000,000 in franchise fees to local governments in Oregon/SW Washington in 2013.
