Comcast today announced its third annual Xfinity Watchathon Week will kick off April 6, offering Xfinity TV customers an all-access pass to 215 of the hottest shows from premium, cable and broadcast networks for free on Xfinity On Demand.

This year, quality is king, and Xfinity is giving customers an opportunity to catch up on every episode of the most-buzzed about new shows including American Crime, CSI: Cyber, Dig, Empire, Finding Carter, Fresh off the Boat, Last Man on Earth, The Last Ship, Madam Secretary, Outlander and The Royals. They’ll also be able to go back to the very beginning of award-winning series like The Affair, Black Sails, Game of Thrones, Girls, House of Lies, Orphan Black, Penny Dreadful, Power, Ray Donovan, The Sopranos, True Detective, Vikings and The Wire.

“Watchathon Week continues to be one of the most anticipated events of the year as the number of really great, high-quality TV series has reached an all-time high,” said Andy Hunter, Vice President of Programming for Comcast Cable. “Xfinity On Demand has become the go-to destination for catching up and staying current on all of the programming available today. Watchathon enables us to take that to the next level by unlocking the biggest and best TV content of the year for the ultimate TV binge week.”

Last year, Xfinity TV customers spent nearly 50 million hours catching up on the hottest shows of the season during Watchathon Week. In fact, all that binging led to a massive surge in live ratings for season premieres for Watchathon participating series.

This year, Watchathon will feature an extensive collection of content for Latino customers, including fan favorites like Sr. Avila, Prófugos and El Negocio from HBO Latino, as well as UniMás’s La Viuda Negra, the hit series that ranked within the network’s top series of all time. And just in time for the highly anticipated return and third installment of Telemundo’s El Señor de los Cielos this April, Watchathon will provide fans of the series an opportunity to catch up on all episodes from its second season.

Watchathon Week programming partners include premium networks: Cinemax, ENCORE, HBO, HBO Latino, SHOWTIME and STARZ; cable networks: A&E, AMC, BBC America, Bravo, Comedy Central, Discovery, DIY Network, E!, El Rey Network, Esquire Network, FX, FXX, HISTORY, Lifetime, MTV, National Geographic Channel, OWN, Oxygen, Pivot, Pop, Spike, Syfy, TBS, TNT, TruTV, TV Land, VH1 and USA Network; and broadcast networks: ABC, CBS, The CW, FOX, Galavisión, NBC, NBC Universo, PBS, Telemundo, UniMás and Univision.

“This is a fantastic event for Xfinity TV customers, and we are thrilled to be a part of it,” said Mark Garner, Senior Vice President, Distribution Business Development, A+E Networks. “By offering a full catch-up of the new and prior seasons of HISTORY’s hit series Vikings, Xfinity Watchathon Week is the ultimate binge and gives new and existing fans the opportunity to get in, catch up and get current with the new season now on HISTORY.”

“Once a year, Comcast showcases the breadth and depth of its Xfinity On Demand platform with Watchathon Week and helps new and existing fans get caught up on the best shows of the season,” said Pam Bertino, Senior Vice President Content Distribution, Pop TV Network. “Time-shifting has become an integral part in how consumers view TV today, and we’re excited Pop fans can access an ‘all-you-can-view’ pass to shows like Schitt’s Creek and Unusually Thicke.’”

"Watchathon Week is a great way to introduce Xfinity customers to the STARZ and ENCORE experience which features an unmatched value proposition of hit movies and STARZ Original programming with series hits including Black Sails, Outlander, Power and Survivor's Remorse,” said Michael Thornton, Chief Revenue Officer for Starz.

“On demand opportunities like Watchathon are a great option for fans to relive their favorite moments and catch up on all the action and fun from the prior seasons,” said Michael Quigley, Senior Vice President of Brand Distribution for Turner Network Sales (TNS), the domestic distribution, sales and marketing arm of Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.). “It provides a wonderful vehicle to expose our shows to new audiences or fans who may have missed it during its most recent season.”

“The Xfinity On Demand platform showcases some of the best Univision content across Univision Network, UniMas, Galavisión and El Rey,” said Jennifer Ball, Executive Vice President, Marketing & Content Partnerships, Univision Communications Inc. “We are happy to partner with Comcast to allow audiences to relive some of their favorite moments of our programming.”
