As part of a new global business initiative to expand NBCUniversal’s footprint through interactive and immersive live entertainment, industry veteran Carol Nygren has been named Vice President, Worldwide Live Entertainment, it was announced today by Vince Klaseus, President, NBCUniversal Brand Development. Nygren recently joined the organization and reports directly to Klaseus.

As Vice President, Worldwide Live Entertainment, Nygren will spearhead the strategy and development for cross-category world-class live events and entertainment. While managing current partnerships, she will also be responsible for creating new relationships globally, and implementing tailored strategies to ensure revenue and creative consistency based on the studio’s dynamic portfolio of intellectual properties.

“As we look into new avenues to strengthen the reach and broaden the appeal of our IP, we’re thrilled to welcome Carol,” said Klaseus. “She brings more than 20 years of expertise in the live entertainment arena, specializing in family-focused events, and has a proven track record of creating effective strategies that engage fans of all ages and underscore brand loyalty though live, immersive experiences. As we look ahead to 2017, we’ll be announcing several new partnerships within the live entertainment space.”

Nygren was most recently at Fathom Events, where she led programming efforts for alternative content in cinemas nationwide, developing new clients and driving overall strategy for identified verticals. Prior to Fathom Events, she served as Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Live Event Management Inc., where she managed all aspects of live event business and oversaw strategy developments and execution for national touring arena based events.

Nygren also worked for The Walt Disney Company for 16 years, where she gained extensive experience in Live Family Entertainment and Consumer Products. As Senior Vice President, Licensed Live Family Entertainment, she developed Disney On Ice into a globally recognized brand with high guest affinity, helping expand Disney’s portfolio in the live events space.

While at Disney, Nygren also occupied managerial roles for Disney Sports Merchandise and Consumer Products, where she oversaw brand strategy and solidified key relationships with national partners such as Major League Baseball and National Hockey League.
