The Board of Directors appoints Stephan Haferl as President of the Industrial X-Ray Modules business segment, which has been led on an interim basis by CEO René Lenggenhager. The Comet Group also announces that Charles Flükiger, President of ebeam Technologies, has decided to leave the company.

Stephan Haferl becomes President of Industrial X-Ray Modules segment
Stephan Haferl has been working for the Comet Group successfully in various management positions since 2007. His strong track record includes proven performance in business development, innovation, technology, and product management, among other areas.

Haferl started at Comet X-Ray Technologies as Head of Global Supply Chain and later oversaw the Research and Development department. Since 2013, Haferl has been responsible for the entire X-Ray Technologies business as General Manager, continually expanding its market position.

Stephan Haferl will assume his new role as President of the Industrial X-Ray Modules (IXM) segment at the beginning of January 2018, and at the same time will join the Executive Committee of the Comet Group. A dual Swiss and Norwegian citizen, the 45-year-old holds a master's degree in mechanical and process engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, and, also at ETH Zurich, earned a PhD with work on thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.

Charles Flükiger, President of ebeam Technologies, is leaving the Group
Charles Flükiger, who was President of X-Ray from 2002 and has been President of ebeam Technologies since 2016, has decided to leave the Group and pursue new career objectives.

The Board thanks Charles Flükiger for his remarkable dedication and the valuable contributions he has made during his 37 years in various positions for the Comet Group. In the past several years, Charles Flükiger and his team have developed ebeam as a promising business activity for the Comet Group. The ebeam business remains an important growth driver and will be further developed into new applications as planned. The Board is pleased that Charles Flükiger will continue to discharge his responsibilities for the ebeam Technologies segment until his departure. Together with Chief Executive Officer René Lenggenhager, the Board will now initiate the search for a new President of the ebeam Technologies segment.
