GOLETA, Calif., May 28, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Community West Bancshares (Nasdaq:CWBC), parent company of Community West Bank, today announced that, in furtherance of its previously announced Preferred Stock Repayment Strategy, it will redeem another $421,000 of its 9%, Cumulative Perpetual Preferred Stock, Series A, on June 29, 2015, leaving a remaining balance of $5,574,000. This redemption covers all of the remaining Preferred shares owned individually and purchased at a private sale by 4 Directors of the Company. In accordance with a prior agreement, the Company will redeem such shares at 73.9%, or a 26.1% discount from par, which was the same purchase price paid by the 4 Directors. As previously announced, the Company's Board of Directors will consider regular redemptions, and that any such redemptions are subject to regulatory approvals and will be based on the Company's financial condition and results of operations at the time. It is anticipated that any future redemptions would be payable from future earnings.
