At his inaugural lesson at the Collège de France on March 2, Didier Roux, Vice President of Research and Innovation, Saint-Gobain, introduced the topic of the Liliane-Bettencourt Innovation Chair which he holds this year.

The various issues that link fundamental research, inventions and innovations will be addressed throughout his classes and conferences given by guest professors.

By speaking about his personal experience and the leading topics of the day (computers and digital technology, solar energy, the challenges facing the construction industry, glass and glassmaking, etc.), Didier Roux will concentrate on highlighting the diversity and wealth of approaches. He will demonstrate that, far from being a linear process, discoveries, inventions and innovations feed off each other and that there is no single well-defined process that leads to innovation.

Watch the teaser video (in French only), filmed at the Domolab, Saint-Gobain's Sustainable Habitat innovation center and at Saint-Gobain Research, and the video of the inaugural lesson.
