09/13/2011 | 10:20amOperating ReleaseAugust 2011COPASA: Operating Release – August 2011Belo Horizonte, September 13, 2011 – COPASA MG – Companhia de Saneamento de Minas Gerais(BM&FBOVESPA: CSMG3) hereby announces its operating release for August 2011.
The Company signed a water supply concession with the city of Passa-Vinte, with a population of approximately 1,300. Furthermore, the Company renewed water supply concessions with the cities of Mercês, Riacho dos Machados and Estiva, which have a combined population of approximately 16,000 inhabitants.
Sewage services also began in the city Tiradentes, Perdões, Prudente de Morais, which have a combined population of approximately 32,000 inhabitants. The Company also started to provide water supply services to the city of Prudente de Morais.
Billed VolumeThe increase in billed volume in August 2011 when compared to the same period last year was the result of a gain in the number of water and sewage connections in the period, associated with a greater number of consumption days. In comparison with last month, the increase was seasonal, considering that historically, August posts greater consumption than July.
