The Company signed a water supply concession with the city of Timóteo, with a population of approximately 80,000, being one of the cities with over 15,000 inhabitants where we held the water concession and where we intended to acquire the sewage concession, pursuant to COPASA MG’s Expansion Plan. On that same occasion, the Company renewed water supply concessions in said municipality, for a period of 30 years.
Furthermore, sewage services began in the cities of Leandro Ferreira, Minas Novas, Pedra Azul and
Santa Maria do Suaçuí, which have a combined population of approximately 46,000 inhabitants.
Billed VolumeThe increase in billed volume in September 2011 compared to the same period in the previous year was due to an upturn in the number of water and sewage connections in the period. In comparison with the previous month, the slight reduction in billed volume was due to the decrease in the number of days in the billing schedule for September 2011, which comprised 29.70 days, versus 31.50 in August 2011.
