A businessman who died in a seaplane tragedy in Australia lived in Wellington and was a familiar face on Shropshire's club cricket circuit.
It emerged today that Richard Cousins had lived in the town for several years in the late 1980s and kept close links with Wellington Cricket Club.
Mr Cousins The businessman, who was chief executive of the Compass Group, died alongside his sons Will and Edward, his fiancee Emma Bowden and her young daughter Heather in the crash on Sunday.
He was 58. Air accident investigators are now examining the wreckage of the De Havilland DHC-2 Beaver involved in the accident north of Sydney.
Friend and Wellington Cricket Club secretary Peter Byram said: "We are all very shocked."
