CSC (NYSE: CSC) today announced the release of its annual corporate responsibility report, which details the company’s global, social and environmental sustainability achievements in Fiscal Year 2015.

“CSC remains strongly committed to corporate responsibility and sustainability across our global operation, from energy reduction and community engagement to investments that help our people grow,” said Mike Lawrie, president and chief executive officer, CSC. “As we move forward with our transformation agenda, including separating CSC into two independent companies to best serve the needs of our clients, our commitment to corporate responsibility remains a crucial pillar of CSC’s business success.”

CSC focuses its corporate responsibility efforts in five areas -- Environment, Clients, Employees, Community and Governance -- and the company reported progress in all five categories in 2015.

Findings of CSC’s annual corporate responsibility and sustainability report include:

Environment – Over the past 12 months CSC has made significant strides in its energy-reduction program, exceeding its 10 percent target after only two years with a 15.1 percent absolute energy reduction against the 2012 baseline and achieving more than 13 percent global greenhouse gas reduction. As a result, the company has formulated a new three-year Global Environmental Strategy through 2018 with redefined targets and a continued focus on minimizing impact on the environment. This includes improving resource efficiency in the areas of energy, data center management, resource protection, transport and travel, green buildings and engagement, and communication. CSC has also achieved ISO50001 energy management certification for several of its strategic data centers in the UK and Denmark.

Employees – In FY 2015 CSC employees completed more than 600,000 hours of professional development training through the company’s virtual CSC University and approximately 1.5 million total learning hours. CSC’s global graduate program has delivered resources and mentoring to help more than 1,000 new college graduates develop professional skills and succeed.

CSC’s Military Recruitment Program provides transitional support to active and former U.S. military personnel from all service branches and reaches out to veterans and wounded warriors by participating in Operation IMPACT Network of Champions, the 100,000 Jobs Mission and many other initiatives. CSC has been named a Top Military Friendly Employer and a Top Military Spouse Employer by Victory Media, a Best for Vets Employer by Military Times, and one of the first winners of the Extraordinary Employer Support Award from Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and U.S. Department of Defense.

Community – CSC’s charitable foundation aligned its philanthropy and community investment strategy to business priorities and focused giving in three areas:

        1.

Education, which prioritizes Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) skills. Supporting STEM education programs helps prepare young people for work in the global economy and strengthens the next-generation IT workforce that powers CSC’s business and gives rise to innovative ideas that can help change the world.

2.

Health and Wellness, particularly for veterans, the disabled and children. By reaching out to help the most vulnerable in many places around the world, CSC is demonstrating a commitment to transforming lives.

3.

Disaster Relief, focused on responding to the destruction caused by typhoons, cyclones and floods. By donating funds and enabling employees to support relief efforts such as delivering food and emergency supplies, CSC is directly impacting those affected by these devastating natural disasters.

Governance – Since the company’s first submission to Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 in 2014, CSC continues to apply significant focus to strengthening the accuracy of global environmental, social and governance metrics and improving our transparency of sustainability reporting.

Awards and Recognition – In recognition of these achievements, CSC was ranked #35 in the Top 100 Best Corporate Citizens for 2015 by CR Magazine. CSC also was listed for the sixth consecutive year in the FTSE4Good Index Series, an equity index series that is designed to facilitate investment in companies that meet globally recognized corporate responsibility standards. In addition, in the UK CSC was ranked in the top 14 percent by Transparency International UK in its 2015 Defence Companies Anti-Corruption Index.
