FALLS CHURCH, Va, July 8--CSC (NYSE: CSC), a global leader in next-generation IT services and solutions, today named Ashish Mahadwar executive vice president and general manager, Strategic Business. Mahadwar previously served as senior vice president and global head of Strategic Partnerships at Cognizant.

Mahadwar, who will report to CSC President and CEO Mike Lawrie, will lead strategy and growth for CSC's next-generation strategic business units: big data, cloud computing and cybersecurity.

"Ashish's proven leadership and industry experience will build on the progress we've already achieved in our big data, cloud and cybersecurity businesses as well as applications modernization and mobility, and bring it all together in a more integrated approach to drive innovation for our clients."

Mahadwar joins CSC following 11 years at Cognizant, where he was most recently responsible for establishing a group to manage the company's strategic partnerships and new ventures. He joined Cognizant in 2003, and has also served as senior vice president and managing director for the company's Enterprise Application Services practice, senior vice president for SAP & Mobile, and director and vice president for the Technology Vertical. Earlier in his career Mahadwar co-founded Planetasia.com, and held management positions for Microland and for an HCL and HP joint venture. He also served in analyst roles at A. F. Ferguson & Co. and CMC. 

Mahadwar attended Bombay University, where he earned a master's degree in Management Studies, Marketing & Finance from JBIMS (Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies) and a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from SPCE (Sardar Patel College of Engineering).
