Constellation Energy Nuclear Group, LLCSM (CENG) announced leadership changes Friday at its R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant, located in Ontario, N.Y., including Joe Pacher as Site Vice President and Sonny Dean as Plant General Manager (PGM). Pacher replaces John Carlin, who is leaving the company for another job.

"We are very pleased to have both Pacher and Dean working together in these key leadership positions," said CENG Chief Nuclear Officer Maria Korsnick. "Pacher's 23 years at Ginna, knowledge and experience fully prepares him to step into the key role of Site Vice President. Together with Dean's talent and background in nuclear power operations, they will be instrumental in positioning Ginna for a successful future. We want to thank John for his dedication to CENG and the Ginna team. The facility has done well under his leadership and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors."

In his new role as Site Vice President, Pacher will report to Korsnick. Currently the PGM at Ginna, he was previously the Engineering Manager at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station in New York. Pacher joined CENG in June 1986 and has held a number of leadership positions at Ginna and Nine Mile Point. Pacher earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a M.A. in Engineering Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

"I have always been very impressed with the people at Ginna," Pacher said. "They are extremely committed to safely operating the plant and being the best in the industry. Ginna is a place where I have spent many years of my career. I look forward to representing Ginna in the community and building upon our past successes in safety, reliability and efficiency."

Dean becomes PGM at Ginna and reports to Pacher. Dean joined CENG in 1990 and has held a number of roles at Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant in Maryland. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and a M.A. in Engineering Management from George Washington University.

"I am excited about moving to New York and pursuing this great opportunity," Dean said. "I know the Ginna team shares my passion for safety and striving to become recognized as a world-class nuclear power facility. We will work together to achieve our goals."
