  • Shop floor area will be more than doubled
  • Expansion will create about 500 new jobs
  • Continuing good order book situation at site

Subotica, July 8, 2015. ContiTech Fluid Serbia is planning to expand the hose assembly plant in Subotica, Serbia to include another production building. A corresponding declaration of intent was signed today with the Serbian government. In this, the two sides pledge mutual support for this project.

The expansion to include a 12.000 m2 production building, in which the company will invest about 17 million euros, will more than double the shop floor area. Some 500 new jobs will be created.

"The reason for the expansion is the continuing good order book situation at the site," declares Markus Murk, Head of the Power Train Segment within ContiTech Mobile Fluid Systems. In Subotica the segment currently has approximately 650 employees and uses its shop floor area of 7.200 m2 to assemble hose lines for the power train. These are supplied to European automakers. The plant also manufactures products for trucks, agricultural vehicles and industrial trucks.

Construction of the new building is planned to start before the end of this year, and completion is scheduled for the fourth quarter of next year.
