Cooper Tire and HISTORY today announced that Cooper is the “Preferred Tire of Big Easy Motors.” Big Easy Motors is HISTORY’s newest non-fiction series for car enthusiasts. The program follows Charles Handler as he scours the Creole State for forgotten classic cars, transforming them into dazzling custom stunners. The new series premieres July 5 on HISTORY.

Big Easy Motors chronicles the work of Handler, owner of The Bomb Factory in New Orleans’ ninth ward, as he puts his personal passion to work, conceptualizing vehicles, restoring classic cars and immersing himself in the history of automobiles from every decade. Handler’s body shop studio represents the culmination of a lifelong dream, where every restoration project becomes a distinct piece of automotive art, revitalizing history along the way.

As the Preferred Tire of Big Easy Motors, Cooper tires will be used on vehicles throughout the series, and will be featured in four episodes on a wide variety of cars—from classic muscle cars to trucks—showcasing the diversity of the Cooper offering. The partnership will also extend to digital integration elements and will continue throughout 2016.

“With more than 100 years in the tire industry, Cooper is proud to offer tires that are designed and built with great care for thousands of miles of excellent service,” said Jessica Egerton, Cooper’s Director of Brand Development. “We know that people don't just drive on our tires, they depend on them. We are passionate about designing products that meet the needs of all consumers—whether driving a classic car or something newer. We’re excited to work with Big Easy Motors in appealing to both car enthusiasts and history buffs, which is a great fit for Cooper’s long legacy in the tire industry.”

“The partnership with Cooper is totally organic and provides the perfect touch; allowing Cooper and HISTORY to breathe new life to classic cars,” said David DeSocio, Senior Vice President, Ad Sales Marketing and Partnerships at A+E Networks. “Cooper tires were the ideal choice for the Big Easy Motors restoration of a 1970 Camaro and 1968 Plymouth Fury, helping to bring these classic beauties to their former glory.”

Big Easy Motors is produced by Glass Entertainment Group for History. Executive producers for Glass Entertainment Group are Jairus Cobb, Nancy Glass, Shannon Biggs, Eric Neuhaus, and Edward Trent Robinson. Zachary G. Behr and Russ McCarroll serve as executive producers for HISTORY.
