COPPER MOUNTAIN MINING APPOINTS VP OPERATIONS AND COO

Vancouver, British Columbia - February 15, 2018 - Copper Mountain Mining Corporation (TSX: CMMC) (the "Company" or "Copper Mountain") announces appointments of VP of Operations and Chief Operating Officer.

CMMC is pleased to announce the appointment of Don Strickland, P.Eng. as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Company. Mr. Strickland will be located in the Vancouver Head Office and be responsible for all the company's mining operations.

Mr. Strickland is a senior executive with proven leadership with a track record of success. As General Manager and Vice President of the Copper Mountain Mine, he has lead the team since April 2013. Under Mr. Strickland's leadership the team has successfully overcome many challenges and developed an efficient cost effective operation with a strong safety record. Mr. Strickland graduated from Queens university with a B.Sc.(hons) in Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering (1993) and has over 25 years mine operational experience. Mr. Strickland has gained extensive experience in mineral processing, project development and mine management while working with Placer Dome, Barrick Gold Corp and Yukon Zinc at operations in Canada and internationally.
