Mozelos, September 11, 2017 - CORTICEIRA AMORIM, S.G.P.S., S.A., in
accordance with article 248, paragraph 1, point a) of the Securities Code, hereby informs the general public and, in particular, its shareholders of the following:
A CORTICEIRA AMORIM, through its subsidiary AMORIM BARTOP - INVESTIMENTOS E PARTICIPAÇÕES, S.A., has entered into an agreement for the acquisition of the company S.A.S. SODILIÈGE, located in Merpins, Cognac (França).
On this date, CORTICEIRA AMORIM concluded the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of SODILIÉGE. CORTICEIRA AMORIM has also made a commitment to acquire the manufacturing and administrative facilities where SODILIEGE operates. The global amount of the operation totals 3 million euros (M€).
SODILIÉGE produces and distributes bartop closures for alcoholic and spirit drinks such as cognac and armagnac. It manufactures a portfolio of high quality and diverse bartops, producing stoppers to the specifications of its customers and making bartops in a range of different materials, including metal (zamac and tin), glass, wood, porcelain and plastic. The company uses plastic injection technology.
In the 2016 financial year, SODILIÉGE registered a turnover of € 3.2 million. Its highly specialised workforce comprises 12 employees.
By means of this operation, CORTICEIRA AMORIM has acquired a company that operates in the important Cognac-producing region and has a portfolio of products recognised for their quality and consistency as well as a portfolio of important customers in the spirits production segment. Through this operation, CORTICEIRA AMORIM is thus increasing its presence in this geographic area and promising business segment.
