Toronto, Canada - Edmonton, AB's Merron Haile, a.k.a. Canada's angel, surrendered to his BBCAN destiny last night after getting evicted from the Big Brother Canada house. Put up for eviction by perennial comp winner and Head of Household (HOH) Erica, and on the block against Ryan, Merron was unable to find his footing in the house after getting voted in by Canada a week after his fellow houseguests arrived. With the house flip flopping all week, and an unused Power of Veto (POV) by Johnny, Merron was voted out five to three, leaving the house void of his beaming light and Canada down one treasured houseguest. But starting next week, Canada can help save their favourite nominees from eviction by voting online to keep them safe.

'I'm so sorry Canada!' said Merron to host Arisa Cox after exiting the BBCAN gates. 'Thanks so much [for voting me in]. I tried so hard. Unfortunately, I couldn't pull it off but I'm so grateful to have been in the house.'

An ill-fated angel living in hell, Merron's time in the house felt like a ticking time-bomb from day one. Canada's gate-crashing houseguest was put up on the block more than any other houseguest this season, although never the target. Merron's fate became clear this week when HOH Erica started to feel threatened by his protected pawn status. After a few invigorating 'game talk' sessions with Merron's fellow nominee Ryan, Erica found solidarity with Ryan in their shared respect for a game of big moves, and together, they made it their mission to flip the house and get Merron out.

After Merron's eviction the house guests held on tight for their next HOH competition, Buttoned Up.

Arisa closed the show by delivering the news of an upcoming BBCAN bombshell to the audience following the upcoming show on Wednesday at 7p.m. ET/PT, Canada will be able to vote at bigbrothercanada.ca to save one of the nominees…or to leave the nominations the same. If the save isn't used next week - Canada will have one more chance the following week!
