COSCO : Wins Award in the Best Corporate Governance Disclosure Awards 2014

COSCO International is pleased to announce that its 2013 annual report stood out of thousands of small-to-medium listed companies and was honoured with the Special Mention in the category of Non-Hang Seng Index (Mid-to-small Market Capitalisation) in the "Best Corporate Governance Disclosure Awards 2014" held by Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("HKICPA"). This demonstrated that the Company's remitting efforts in enhancing corporate governance have been unanimously recognised by the industry experts.

The judges acclaimed that COSCO International's 2013 annual report had been well and comprehensively constructed. In which, the Corporate Governance Report extensively showed the roles and responsibilities of the board and all board committees, and its adoption of a board diversity policy. It also clearly indicated a thorough risk management framework, and the operation risks of various businesses as well as the relevant risk control measures. In addition, the judges gave special mention on COSCO International's detailed and valuable information provided for the shareholders and investors in the areas of financial information, connected transactions, and investor relations, etc. These illustrated a good example of the best practices of corporate governance disclosure.

The annual Best Corporate Governance Disclosure Awards organised by HKICPA since 2000 are the most established and prestigious awards for corporate governance. The Awards aim at, through recognition of outstanding companies that excel in their corporate governance disclosure, improving the public's awareness of the significant changes and best corporate governance practices, and their understanding towards the importance and social benefits of high corporate transparency and accountability to shareholders.
