On Sept. 21st, ITACOATIARA Ferry was successfully loaded by MV DA LIANG of COSCO SHIPPING at Huangpu New Port. So far, COSCO SHIPPING has carried up to three Brazilian Olympic Ferries in total.
This ITACOATIARA Ferry, which is the sister-vessel of CORCOVADO Ferry and Pao de Acucar Ferry, will also serve for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. They were all transported by COSCO SHIPPING. Among them, the Pao de Acucar Ferry was well-known as the Premier Li Keqiang's boarding during his visit to Brazil in May of this year. They were built by Afai Southern Shipyard (Panyu Guangzhou) of CSIC, which has 78.4m in length, 14.8m in breadth, 13.8m in height, and cargo volume in 16,000 CBM with net weight in 474mt. It is the record of maximum measurement in cargo volume for the single lifting of COSCO SHIPPING's heavy lift vessel.
For satisfying customers' requirements, and ensuring the quality of transport, COSCO SHIPPING has made the thorough preparations in advance. The experienced port captain was appointed to the site, and crews were also in the active cooperation. After the efforts in several hours, lifting tasks were finished at 13:30 of Sept. 20th. Then at 10:00 of next day, lashing was all completely smoothly.
