Countryside, one of the leading home builders specialising in placemaking and urban regeneration, in partnership with Notting Hill Housing Trust, one of London's largest housing associations and Brent Council, has completed the £78m regeneration project at Parkside Place in Wembley, Middlesex.

The milestone was marked by a celebration along with the residents in the newly built Community Centre.

Countryside, Notting Hill Housing Trust and Brent Council have worked together to provide 338 residential homes with associated retail space, a community centre, landscaped green spaces and children's play areas.

The original site, which consisted of mainly 1970s built dilapidated residential blocks, was demolished in phases to pave the way for the new £78million Parkside Place development.

Following planning consent, which was granted in February 2010, work commenced to deliver 338 new homes, comprising one to four-bedroom apartments and houses. Delivered across three phases, these include 122 homes for affordable rent, 65 shared-ownership homes and 151 homes for private sale. Working closely with the residents, the first phase delivered over 70% affordable homes, with the development as a whole delivering 55% affordable homes.

Robert Wilkinson, Managing Director for East London at Countryside Partnerships South said: 'It is fantastic to announce the completion of work at Parkside Place, where, since 2010, we have worked with Notting Hill Housing and Brent Council to provide the local community with a mix of high-quality housing and first-rate community spaces that were very much needed.

We're also thrilled to have employed 20% local labour on this scheme, which is a fantastic example of our commitment to Making Lives Better, ensuring that we not only provide great new places to live and spend time, but also play a part in brightening the futures and prospects of local residents.'

John Hughes, Group Development Director at Notting Hill Housing said: 'From the outset, we worked closely with local residents and stakeholders from the local community at Parkside Place, to ensure that we provided the range of housing and services that the local community required. Wembley is a vibrant and leafy location and we're delighted to have played a part in furthering this area's appeal and boosting the existing community.'
