Working in partnership with Home Group and Three Rivers District Council; Countryside, one of the UK's leading home builders specialising in placemaking and regeneration, has now completed nine retail units at Station Square, at its £180m development at South Oxhey Central.

Station Square is the new gateway from Carpenders Park Railway Station to South Oxhey. Boston Express and Spicers Carpets & Beds are open and will shortly be joined by Greggs and The Rustic Café & Bistro. Other retailers at Station Square will include Fairfield Estates and Nisa Extra, which is planning to open a postal service.

Station Square will be fully complete by winter 2018 and will provide 19 new retail units and two floors of office space, as well as a new landscaped square with trees and outdoor seating.

The entire development at South Oxhey Central, delivered across three phases and expected to complete in 2022, will create 514 new homes, 55,000 sq ft of retail and commercial space, including a new 18,880 sq ft Lidl food store and two acres of open, public space. The new homes will provide a mix of private sale and affordable rent housing, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to four-bedroom family houses.

Mike Woolliscroft, Managing Director for Partnerships South, West London at Countryside, commented: 'The development at South Oxhey Central is progressing well and seeing retailers move in to the new units at Station Approach is an exciting moment as we deliver a new vibrant hub for the community. What's more satisfying is that over 50% of the new retail units will be let to operators that have been serving the South Oxhey community for many years.

'In addition to providing new high-quality homes, across a range of tenures, it is crucial that we also provide local residents with attractive public open spaces that bring the community together.'
