For the second consecutive year, Citizens Business Bank earned a top five ranking in bank performance for 2015 among banks with $5 billion to $50 billion in assets.

“We are excited and honored to be recognized as a top ranked bank by Bank Director magazine, which is a highly respected publication in the industry,” said Christopher D. Myers, President and CEO of Citizens Business Bank. “We attribute our long-term success to strong board leadership, the hard work of our associates, our dedicated focus on the business sector, and the tremendous loyalty of our customers.” Mr. Myers added, “Consistency in performance over a long period of time is the goal of most banks. We are proud of the fact that we most recently achieved our 153rd consecutive quarter of profitability.”

For its Scorecard, Bank Director magazine uses five key metrics that measure profitability, capitalization, and asset quality. Return on average assets and return on average equity are used to gauge each bank’s profitability. Capital strength metrics, including the ratio of tangible common equity to tangible assets, are used to measure a bank’s capital strength. In addition, the ratio of nonperforming assets to total loans and other real estate owned, and the ratio of net charge offs to average loans, are used to assess each bank’s asset quality.
