SAN DIEGO, Jan. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- AgigA Tech, Inc., a leading provider of high-speed, high-density, battery-free nonvolatile memory solutions and a subsidiary of Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NASDAQ: CY), today announced the production release of its AGIGARAM(®) family of JEDEC-compliant DDR4 NVDIMM-N solutions. The solutions join AgigA's market-leading, pre-JEDEC (or "Legacy") DDR4 NVDIMM products already in volume production to provide a broad portfolio of full turnkey module products and controller solutions that adhere to the recent publicly released JEDEC standards around NVDIMM-N solutions (JESD248 and JESD245A).

AgigA has 8GB and 16GB NVDIMM-N module solutions available today, with 32GB under development and slated for release later this year. AgigA also offers controller chipset solutions for OEM partners to develop their own branded NVDIMM-N products. The AGIGARAM family of chipsets are highly programmable, enabling them to support multiple NVDIMM-N requirements, including designs with or without data multiplexors, as well as NAND Flash solutions from various memory vendors. Additionally, AgigA provides a full line of PowerGEM(®) modules, the industry's most reliable battery-free energy solutions that provide power during data backup, supporting both AgigA and OEM NVDIMMs.

"AgigA Tech was the first to sample a DDR4 NVDIMM over two years ago, and we have since focused on perfecting and expanding our offerings while working with our key OEM partners," said Ron Sartore, president and CEO of AgigA Tech. "With the recent release of the JEDEC NVDIMM-N standards, this market is poised for significant growth in the coming years, with multiple market reports forecasting well over $1 billion by 2020."

The NVDIMM-N standard defined by JEDEC offers a new class of nonvolatile memory developed to meet the need for higher-performance persistent memory for enterprise-class storage and server applications, providing the low latency and nearly infinite endurance of DRAM, along with the non-volatility of Flash. Enterprise and data center applications were previously constrained by the higher latency of existing storage solutions such as SSDs, but they are now able to remove a significant system bottleneck with the deployment of NVDIMM-N solutions in their storage hierarchy. With the recent introduction of the JEDEC specifications, NVDIMM-N hardware and software integration just became much easier.

AgigA Tech Demonstration Sponsor at the 2017 Persistent Memory Summit

AgigA Tech will be showcasing its latest NVDIMM-N solutions as a Demonstration Sponsor at the 2017 Persistent Memory Summit to be held at the Westin San Jose hotel on January 18, 2017. Jeff Chang, AgigA's Vice President of Marketing and Business Development and the Co-Chair of the NVDIMM Special Interest Group, will be hosting a panel discussion at the summit entitled "Persistent Memory Adoption in Operating Systems" focusing on NVDIMM enablement within the OS ecosystem.
