Following up on our February announcement, we are pleased to share here that Cyren's SaaS Internet security platform upgrade, Cyren Cloud Security 4.0, went live on March 26. This release deepens the integration of our cloud-based offerings - web security, email security, DNS-based security and cloud sandboxing - on a unified, globally operated service platform. We've enhanced our ability to exploit synergies in service delivery in new ways, and our deep platform integration in terms of threat detection and threat correlation across web, email and DNS traffic is positioned to grow richer, get faster, and be even more effective than it already is.

New features

The platform upgrade also brought some new service features with it, among the highlights 'Shadow IT' discovery and compelling new advanced threat protection capabilities for email security, most notably the full integration of our cloud-based sandboxing as an in-line layer of defense, first made available last year as part of the web security stack.

What it means

What it means to IT and security managers is that deploying and managing enterprise-grade security just got a whole lot simpler and a whole lot better at the same time. When you make step-change improvements in things which are normally considered trade-offs, you aren't moving things up (or down) the curve - you're shifting the curve. That's what moving security to the cloud is about, and what this release embodies - shifting the IT security curve in terms of speed and effectiveness.

The logic of the Cyren Cloud Security 4.0 platform, and the various services operating from it, reinforces that web surfing and email communications, from a security perspective, are overlapping domains. It follows that they shouldn't be managed in separate silos. We're clearly aiming to help customers rationalize their approach and address their web and email security needs holistically - or rather their Internet security needs, we might say more broadly - by giving them the possibility of managing security writ large from a single administrative console, and following through on that with additional logical elements and benefits of what 'unified' means -- integrated policy controls, integrated reporting, unified threat dashboards, streamlined user onboarding, etc.
