Launch of Specialty Vehicles With Diverse Work Applications
Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd., ("Daihatsu") will launch a new Hijet Truck specialty vehicles on October
14 nationwide. The Hijet Truck was initially launched on September 2.
The specialty vehicle is divided into 12 types, which are categorized into the Dump Truck Series, Lift Series, Refrigerator/Freezer Vehicle Series and the Delivery Series. All of these types enjoy improvements in the base model in terms of basic functions such as ease in getting on and off, bigger indoor space, loading capacity, operational stability and anti-rust performance. Moreover, requests from customers in many different types of businesses have been reflected and the mini commercial vehicle is specially equipped, enhancing its excellence in convenience and operability.
To ensure that customers' requests are addressed extensively and swiftly, a new collaborative project with an installation manufacturer has been commenced in some of our refrigerator/freezer trucks. This allows optional settings for a change in the position of the drain hole in the cargo box and the installation of air ribs (ribs that are placed inside the cargo box to stimulate the circulation of cold air), which could not be addressed before. Also, the project allows the trucks to be customized in accordance to how each customer would use it.
Major characteristics
・Dump Truck Series: Locating the bed at a low level helps to facilitate cargo handling.
・Lift Series: Operability of the compact tail lift has been improved.
・Refrigerator/Freezer Vehicle Series: Greater availability of installation option settings helps to satisfy customers' needs.
・Delivery Series: Addition of 4AT to a 4WD truck results in more extensive specifications.

・Putting the bed at a low level makes cargo handling easier.
The multipurpose, earth/sand and cleaning types of dump truck have a bed on the floor surface which is located at 775 millimeters above ground level, 25 millimeters lower than conventional types. In the low type, the bed is located at 670 millimeters above ground, 5 millimeters lower than conventional types. This is unrivalled among the trucks in the same

・A bed step for helping a worker to get on and off the bed has been added on left side of the vehicle.(Multipurpose, low and earth/sand types)
・A large lamp may be optionally installed on the bed for facilitating nighttime work.

・The platform for loading and unloading cargo has been expanded by nearly 100 millimeters.
This allows cargo to be loaded and unloaded more stably.
・The sound when ascending and descending of the lift has been completed has been improved.

・Assigning everything about the cargo box, from installation, marketing, and guarantee to after-sales service, to an installation manufacturer allows for a variety of option settings to satisfy many different requests from customers and helps to take necessary action more swiftly.
・Toprec's low-temperature freezer trucks
A partnership has been established with Toprec Co., Ltd. (president: Makoto Yamanaka), a company that specializes in the installation of freezer trucks and provides comprehensive constant-temperature logistics systems connecting logistics hubs around the country. Convenient and meticulously-designed options can be set.
・Toyo Brother Kogyo's Refrigerator trucks
Usable options have been set in collaboration with Toyo Brother Kogyo KK. (president: Setsuo Seshita), a long-established company in the installation and manufacture of light and small refrigerated vehicles.
Delivery Series Highly-practical equipment and a large interior space facilitate delivery.◆Incorporating electronically-controlled 4AT into 4WD trucks
・A fuel-efficient, silent and electronically controlled 4AT has been incorporated into
4WD panel vans and high-roof panel vans which have a large cargo compartment and convenient sliding doors on the sides.
